Hmmm, seems we're straying into politics again. Oh, well...

I'm also not sure I'd say the Swiss have the "best gun laws on the planet". It's cool that they let militiamen keep their service rifles at home, but I'm pretty sure that in most other respects, most American gun owners would rather not have Swiss-style gun control laws. Not necessarily "anti-gun", but definitely pro-gun control. Which isn't quite the same thing.

Anyway, how is the Coast Guard? Do you get to man big guns and shoot drug dealers carrying drugs into the US? |

Some people do, the gunners mates fire big old bofors cannons and stuff, and theres some type of .50 caliber bolt gun they have in the helos to blow out engines on drug rnning boats. Theres also the MSST and MSRT teams (basically they do rainbow six stuff) and there over in somalia taking on pirates.
I'll be driving boats, different job. Will do Law enforcement though, which is real good since Ill be becoming a police officer when im out of the coast guard. |

I always thought they used M240Bs for that.

They'll use the 240 for a stationary target, a moving boat they fire a few bursts across the bow with a .240 for warning and then use the .50 cal (the shooters are real good, they can hit the engine and not any passengers this way) while a 240 may have rounds going all over in full auto firing on a moving boat.
