Ruger's 1911 launched.
http://ruger.com/products/sr1911/features.html
No stupid Firing pin block, no lame magazine disconnect, no second maual on the side, no ugly front cocking serrations. The Loaded chamber indicator is a small viewport like a kimber, not a big ugly thing like feared, and it has some sweet features, like nice sights, good beavertail, the MSH is metal while the trend seems to be plastic, it has a gi guide rod, and everything is american made in the gun, no outsourcing. MSRP of 800 so i expect it to sell at 650. Definitely gonna look into one, seems set up the way i want.

Reminds of S&W 1911s for some reason. I guess because of the same sights, the beavertail and thumb safety seem the same too. There is some sort of writing on the bottom of the dust cover. Surprised the hell out of me they went with the series 70 firing system.
I wonder if they plan on a blued version in the future. If the pricing does turn out to be around $650, it will put the hurt on some of the other 1911 makers.

mSRP is 799 so im guessing 650 is a good bet. The writing is the Lawyer crap ruger feels the need to shove on guns. at least its out of the way.
