Yes he did. He left me a Colt Detective Special when he passed away (1923 - 2004) and a Marlin Model 60. I still own both of them.

But I wish he had held onto the Remington Model 10. Evidently he also had a Mauser C/96 Broomhandle (when he was a kid) which was mostly used in the fall when they slaughtered the hogs. Hard to say what happened to those two guns.

It looks like it'd be in the ideal firing position, what reason would there be to extend it? At least it makes a bit more sense than where the vertical grip is located or how far below the actual trigger the pistol grip is.

Not arguing the set-up is practical or anything, just saying.

*Shrugs* Eh, whatever, I made the same mistake. All holosights look like EOTechs to me (most of them are so expensive that I can't even contemplate owning any, so I don't bother reading much about 'em).

Mostly a path dependency issue. There are gazillions of metal AK and AR mags floating around, and have been since before translucent mags even existed.
