Just for the record, no one uses depleted Uranium rounds as an anti personnel ammunition. They're used in large tank rounds as an anti-armor round. The Atomic number of Uranium is 92, higher than Gold (Which is 79) It is denser and suitable to create a 'spear' in the anti-armor round to punch through enemy tank armor. No one creates or uses bullets for used in small arms like pistols or rifles with Uranium rounds, that would be absolutely ridiculous. Even depleted Uranium has a certain amount of radioactivity.

Depleted Uranium bullets has been use as anti personal. Just ask the dead Iraqi insurgents and Talibans in Afghanistan.
As far as I know no depleted uranium bullets are made for small arms. |

In movie logic, depleted uranium is more useful than lead because it is heavier (I.E. more accurate, powerful). I'd assume they'd believe the rounds to be coated in lead to block out radiation or something dumb like that.
