I think when it came out, the C96 beats out anything that was out at the time

I wish someone would make a reproduction of the C-96. I know Astra and NORINCO made them, but I want one made by a company I can trust so I don't have to worry the gun kB'ing.

I wish Ruger would make a c96 in .22lr. They make solid guns at good prices. And I anticipate mt2008's comeback, so ill say now. RUGER IS A MCH DIFFERENT COMPANY NOW, BILL IS DEAD. The people in control know there stuff, and make solid guns, good prices, have a couple of the most favored CC offerings right now, sell more wheelguins than smith and the p95 may be the best deal in 9mm semis going. I like ruger.

I don't care, I'll still never buy a Ruger for as long as I live.

I will. There a hell of a company. Nobody from Bill the traitor's days are around, completely different people. They are also known to have top notch customer service.

I will NEVER buy an automatic anything from Ruger. Every time they put a new one out, there is a recall. Their revolvers are decent, especially the Speed Six. However, S&W and Colt are leaps and bounds better than Ruger

It's not the most ergonomic ever, everytime I shoot mine the corner of the frame gives a solid knock to my thumb joint. That doesn't make it any less awesome as far as I'm concerned.

Norinco never made C96s, various Chinese arsenals in the 20s and 30s did. I would not fire one. The Astra clones, however, also made in that era, I wouldn't worry about. Astra / Llama at that time was the best of a vibrant Spanish arms industry.

They'd never make one now though. The insides of the thing are complicated like a Swiss watch and just as well made. It would cost thousands.
