Polanski really captured the brutality of the Germans in the film (I don't like to call em Nazis because I compare to a racial slur).
Isn't it more of a racial slur to call them "Germans"? You're implying that their behavior comes from being German. Calling them "Nazis" at least associates their brutality with an ideology rather than an ethnicity.
