Bah, late to the party here, but also wanted to give my personal congrats as well JCordell. Sad I missed this, posted on my B-Day no less. Bah! But again, that is awesome to hear. I wish your boy the best.

Thanks. I hope he makes the most out of his enlistment. Who knows he might even decide to stay in for a career. But whatever he chooses I think he's getting off to a good start.

It's an old joke in the Forces here that the Army is full of Newfies and the Navy is full of prairie boys - I guess it holds true down South too. |

Funny how that seems to happen. Of all the various branches he gave the most consideration to the Navy, Coast Guard and Marines. We aren't a big water family. I swim as part of my workout routine, but only in a pool. Don't know a thing about fishing though we're really good at eating fish and God help us if we ever had to do something "nautical". I hear that the Coasties are very good at teaching land-lubbers the business of being a sailor.
