This is an original Colt Single Action Army 5.5" Artillery from 1875 with Vulcanite grips, pretty much no finish (but it still looks nice) and "E.E." carved on the butt, indicated the original owners initials. The hammer spring is snapped but it will eventually be replaced by another original so the hammer at least cocks properly. (In this image the gun still had a working hammer spring BTW)

Note the beaten up butt, indicating the owner was a working man who would pound nails in with it, because apparently a hammer isn't good enough.

What is that, a custom Colt Government? I'd assume that based on the finish, and it has an extended ambidextrous safety (can't tell if it is nickel or stainless), a beavertail grip safety, it has Pachmyr grips (like the Series 70 my dad owns), a custom trigger, and adjutable sights. Oh, and a newer production 8 round magazine (note six holes, not 5). Nice piece.
