The third and fourth images are really really REALLY bad, which is very confusing because the first and second are quite good. How did that happen?

Probably because there were no good shots of that weapon in the film. It really isn't that hard to deduce.

I meant the resolutions are way different, the last two images look very pixelated.

It's a intense action scene. Lots of movement. I had to slow it down and freeze frame it to get the shots. There really are no good shots of that gun in the movie.
