Is this going to turn into a cop bashing session? Really? I'm the first to admit there are bad cops out there, but lets try not to engage in sterotypes and cliches. Please.

My inspiration for my costume comes from V and Rorschach.

A Guy Fawkes mask with continuously shifting facial features? That would make you look like Salvador Dali's Mr. Potatohead.

I meant the Panama Hat and the duster with the Guy Fawkes mask.

I have had some very friendly informative encounters with the police, I've had some pricks. But my initial attitude is of cautious distrust, not outright revolutionary hostility.

Well I'll readily admit that there are some less then friendly, or likeable, people in the profession.

The police are our friends (with the exception of that douche bag Stacey Koons).

They are a necessary force to maintain civilization, but they are not our friends. They do what they must to do their jobs (the jobs we as a society ask them to do), no matter how dishonest, disruptive, or violent their actions are required to be. They are no more our friends than the waitress who flirts with us for tips. It's not her job to take our order and bring us our food, it's her job to be personal and bring in repeat business. A police officers job is not to uphold the law or preserve civility or ensure our safety, it is to investigate people. Not criminals , people, everyone and anyone. They are information gatherers primarily.

Obviously we are going to have to agree to disagree.

That doesn't make sense. Anyway, Checkman, what's your opinion on vigilantes?
