mine are solid, ive hiked, worked, just worn around, and they work just fine, are confortable, and quick to put on when youre rushing to muster or something.

They were leather... Though I assume you mean regular lace-up boots instead of tacticool side-zips.

At any rate, I'm running (no pun intended) a pair of 5.11 Tactical side-zip ATACs now and they're as durable as an AK.

Mine are leather and cloth, there durable but breathe well
