Once I fired an over-and-under 12 gauge shotgun and both barrels fired at once. Bruised my shoulder pretty bad.
The funny thing is I'm almost notorious amongst the gun owners who know me (even my dad) as being able to shrug off some mean recoil. For example two instances: 1. I was at a friend's house and he had guns to shoot. The "big" gun of theirs was a .444 Marlin 336 lever action. I shoulder it and expect it to hurt, and fire it. I then turn to my friend's dad and ask, "That's it?" He laughed. 2. After firing a 10 Gauge twice, my dad askes, "Had enough?" I replied, "Got anymore?" haha. He had buckshot left, which kicks more. Shot four of those as well, no problem. My love of guns overwhelms my discomfort of pain.

I burned my face with a 16 gauge shotgunīs powder while hunting partridges. Some minutes later, I looked like this guy (without grenade and Koran):

Lol. Neh, I didnīt show any signs of the powder in my face, I only used the balaclava to avoid the burn again.

![]() Also, I've been hit by ricochets at a canyon in the San Bernadino mountains (a fav spot for shooters, but no longer used by casual shooters since the Sheriff's dept closed it down), but I still have a 9mm and a .308 Win that hit me in the lower back and lower leg respectively. The ricochets lost all their kinetic power, but it still hurt like hell. Kinda like someone shooting a slingshot at your body with a small rock at point blank range. Not enough to break the skin but enough to make a big welt! And no, I was NOT the shooter. I was just an observer. |
