They send the genric "important message, press this button to confirm receiveing" thing. Ill email bunni, see if i can get some moderator status.

Also, remember that if you've received one of those spam PMs, chances are that at least one of the mods received it, too. In which case, it's a moot point. But, better safe than sorry.

Each time it shows who else it was sent to, and they seem to avoid moderators.

I don't think your "Sent to" display shows all the names it was sent to. When I logged in today (I didn't try yesterday), I had the message from "ForumsAdministrator", but MPM had already banned him by this point, so I just deleted the message and moved on.

I've received the messages from most of the other spammers, too.

Nope, they send it to EVERYONE, including mods. But they send it in packets to about 4-5 users at a time. We see it. I think you just see it first .... so don't panic
