I'd stay put in my townhouse for the first week or so until the panic dies down and board up the windows and doors. It would likely be most dangerous during the initial panic and chaos out on the roads and streets and once that dies down I'd grab some supplies and find an unoccupied house out in the country to fortify and make my home.
