The Walking Dead. new zombie series on AMC 10/31/10

I am probably the last one to know about this, but just in case. The Walking Dead is a comic book about a cop and his family surviving the Zombie Apocalypse. Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Mist) and Gale Ann Hurd (producer of The Terminator and many other action movies) are the producers and have turned it into a television series. It premieres on Halloween.

I haven't checked, but I imagine that Darabont will probably have directed a couple episodes.

Once again I'm probably the last one to learn about this, but I haven't seen anyone taking about it.

It appears that our hero is carrying either a 6" nickle plated Colt Python or a glossy stainless steel Taurus. Well I'll get a better look in the future.

It should be interesting. I imagine that such a show will be pretty expensive to produce. At least it looks like it has high production values in the trailers.
