IIRC, the customized AK-74s were taken from a special police unit that was outnumbered, attacked by the protesters and forced to retreat, deserting most of their equipment including rifles and RPGs, as well as a truck.

@Swordfish 941: these photos were from the riots back in April 6-7 that led to the prime minister being deposed in the first place. The current violence isn't as well covered but seems to be more ethnically oriented.
