Captcha on main site is wildly inconsistent

Sometimes I only have to do the captcha once, sometimes I have to do it as many as 10 times. What's the deal?

When do you have to do the captcha? I don't think that I have ever seen one.

When including an outside link. I stated on the Outlander page that it should be in the Mad Max category, leaving a link to the game's page on the Mad Max wiki as a reinforcing point and having to complete the captcha about four times before it would save. But like I said, in the past I've had to do it as many as 10 times. I understand taking steps to prevent automated spam, but once or twice seems like more than enough.

I wasn't able to reproduce the issue. Then again, it may not come up for admins.

Hmm.. usually in the rare cases it happens for me (in my case it's usually just doing other edits on a page where a link is already present) it's just once for me and that's it. Pretty sure it always has been so, too. Again though that's not me adding in a new link, not sure if that changes anything or not (I would think not). Strange indeed.
