I just carry the gun in a holster back and forth, I don't need to take it out except for comfort but I always put it right back, at home its usually with me in a holster.

If you live in an area where you're so afraid of getting killed that you need to carry a gun (and I'm not passing judgment; I have known people who do live in very dangerous areas and carry concealed), why would you accidentally leave your gun at all? It would seem analogous to forgetting to brush your teeth, or some other life habit that's essential to your daily health.

"Caliber doesnt matter shot placement is, a hit with a .22 beats a miss with a .50" crowd. Yeah, shot placement is critical, and more important than caliber, but caliber also does matter. A hit to the chest with a .25 acp beats a 50 that misses, but a .45 to the chest beats a .25 to the chest. If you can make shots well with the bigger caliber than do it.

Also on that note...Self defense doesnt always mean you have to kill some one. A .25 will stop a person from doing what they are doing but the dude has a chance to survive and learn and grow as a human...a .45 is usually a end game. So there is also those gun owner attitudes that bigger is alway better no matter what.

If some tool is shooting up a mall, the faster I drop them the less chance he has to kill more innocent people. Not all defense is against a mugger or something, there are cases of active shooters. And I see the need for shot placement, Its just so many people act like its all that matters and it sees in their mind we should all carry .22 target psitols or something.

No gun will stop someone with a single shot reliably, one shot from a .25 to the central nervous system will stop someone, in their tracks, high or sober. This is the same with any gun.

Once read a story about a cop that shot someone high on drugs 6 times with a .41 magnum revolver and that didn't even stop him.

Shot placement > Caliber.
