I'd sell a couple guns just to get money to buy a few of those Garands and Carbines

Well, that would be price paid to the Korean govenment, the consumer price would actually be significantly higher.
And from what I've heard, the sale was actually blocked because a foreign aid, the weapons were actually still the property of the US government, as was standard when they were handed out in the late 40s / 50s. Can't sell what you don't own. |

That's what was bothering me. I remember a line from Lord of War where Cage said "When the US leaves a war zone, they tend to leave their munitions behind. It costs more to bring it back than to buy new stock."
Is that really true?
