I am a stone...
I just received this very cool, all original Mosin-Nagant M91/30 PU sniper rifle. Although the market is full of reproduction Mosin snipers with modern-made scopes, this is an original never-refurbed WW2 rifle, with a mismatched WW2 scope, likely a wartime field replacement. The rifle is a 1943 Ishevsk M91/30, but the scope really makes it special - it's an silium (13% silicon, 87% aluminium) alloy tube with a brass lens fitting and square turret housing, which was an experimental model only made for a couple of months in early 1943. Like all WW2 Soviet scopes, when you adjust them the bars of the reticle actually move over the sight picture, rather than the sight picture moving in front of the reticle like on a modern one. Very cool rifle!

Cool. My freind used to have a rifle just like that (except the scope was a repro) in the closet in his kitchen

I had the privilege of holding an all original one in a gun store a few years ago. It's certainly a cool gun to have, good find Nyles.

I remember at the gun shop where i got my mosin, there were three to choose from and the guy said one of them was a former sniper rifle. It had the scope mount holes in the receiver plugged and a normal bolt installed

Nice one, WWII sniper rifles are really interesting.
That looks like the same reticle as a Kar98. |

Yeah, that's a very popular European 3-post reticle, the German ZF-39 and ZF-41 scopes I've seen both had it and I understand the ZF-4 used on the K43 has the same. The No.32 scope on my Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk.I(T) has a similar, though somewhat different, reticle as well.

Pretty cool and unique Nyles. You should start thinking about a small museum at home .
