Holsters
Don't know much about them, was wondering something though. Most have the starps over your gun holding it in, im wondering woldn't this affect your draw if you need to unsnap? or are they made to break at certain angles and keep people from stealing it out at certaion ones? Or do you just undo straps out if you plan to use it?

That's what button release holsters are for: so you don't have to deal with the little strap

I really like the button release holsters at the hip. Or just a holster that would be a snug fit for your gun.

I hate button holsters like the serpa. I think a snug fit, maybe even a velcro strap would be most practical.

The leather-strap holsters are basically outdated, but many people do still seem to like them, probably for traditionalist reasons. But release-button holsters are preferable for quick-draw. I have a factory SIG paddle holster with a release button, and that's what I prefer.

Damn spammers......
I like the carry type of holsters that are just a snug fit and you can draw out as quick as you want. Ive tried button holsters and they suck for me. I wouldn't want to have to deal wioth one under stress either, like a methhead running at me. Going into LE as a career though im going to be thinking of what type of holster i want. One thats secure enough the gun wont slide out but no straps, buttons, etc. |

I'm pretty sure that for most LE purposes, paddle release button holsters are the way to go. That's what most cops have nowadays. Also, depending on what you're willing to pay, the fit and size of the holster will vary. The one I own was cheap (I paid about $20 for it), but better holsters do exist. |
