Were results of Joint Combat pistol Trials Published?
I now the guns were tested. I saw a shot show review where a beretta rep said the px was the only one to pass but i doubt that with the quality of some other entries. I was wondering how they all fared against each other. Havent seen and results, but know these were tested:
HK45 FNP45 Ruger P345 Glock 21 Para LDA XD45 p220 Taurus oss smith m&p Also, why would it be specified that it had to be in flat dark earth? Looks ugly to me, thats just taste, but does the military need 2 tone guns as a requirement? Now why para taurus or ruger entere, no idea, but id love to see results.

Given that we're involved in several wars in the Middle East (Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Libya), it makes sense to want a pistol with a dark earth colored frame. I just hope they've considered that we won't be involved in those wars forever.

turns out they only were inspected to see they met sepcifications and testing never occured, so we dont get to see how they all match up in a real world test.

Interesting. Well, I'm not sure the JCP was going to happen anyway. It's like Nyles has said: Pistols don't win wars, so there are better ways to spend the DoD's budget that will inevitably get higher priority.

I always thought that the military should replace the beretta m9 with something like the beretta 96 or a 45 acp version so the troops basically get the same gun with the same disassembly, cleaning kit , etc but in a different caliber so they dont have to retrain thousands of men on a new gun.

Most are so poorly trained on pistols it wouldnt matter. A friend of mine did 2 tours in iraq and only shot the beretta in the states a few times for "familiarization." Its not like there all trained to be experts with secondary weapons like in call of duty the focus is on the rifle. Pistol training is more for jobs that require pistols even then you may only shoot 2-4 times a year.

Just for Fun, what do you think the winners of military trials would be?
I think Taurus, Ruger and Para would go first, and XD wouldnt be adopted simply because of politics (croatian made.) glock may do okay, not sure since the 17 was disqualified from xm9 trials since it didnt have necessary firing pin force, if its been updated or requirement changed should do okay. The M&P would perform like a glock. I think the fn would perform solidly, and the hk45 and p220 are well proven. Think the p220 would win overall but have stiff competition.

P220 would be the best choice, but they would choose the cheapest option they possibly could

The FNP45 is a shitload of firepower but i dont think its been torture tested so id like to see that and see if it holds, SIGs are just so damn reliable and durable, I have no idea how the px4SD performs, there are no reiews or eben user range reports around.
