Usually for a long range scope, a doctor red dot is on top or an offset angle from the rail. That could explain why Flag holds his rifle almost completely sideways as opposed to tilt.

I believe that this mount is the one made by
LaRue. They recommend fitting it at 45º between the turrets, but as it just clamps around the scope tube rather than being fixed to one of the rings like other mounts, it can be adjusted to any position around the scope.
