Yeah, but it's not like the Iranians have ever been known for contributing to the cutting edge of aircraft design. The Russians
were, 30 years ago, but a lot of their collective brainpower in the sciences has diminished. Most of their "new" weapons designs (missiles, aircraft, tanks, even small arms) are derived in some way from their Cold War-era stuff.
