Default My Christmas present to myself...

Aside from going down to Mexico to visit my folks (which is really THEIR present), I decided to get myself a Christmas present this year. I bought myself a very interesting antique Belgian-made Frontier Bulldog revolver, because the price was right. These Belgian copies of the Webley Bulldog are very common antiques, but normally they're pocket-sized .32s, and this is definately a holster-sized .44 (registered as a .44-40 but I can almost guarantee it's not), and with the lanyard ring and trigger guard spur it's a very interesting mystery piece.

But then something else came up that I couldn't refuse because they're so uncommon here in Canada. It's an all-original, very nice condition US Springfield Model 1861 rifle-musket with bayonet. And no, it is not a reproduction - it was made by Norwich in 1863, thereby unseating my Snider-Enfield Mk.I as the oldest gun in my collection.

The irony is, the Springfield is going to be alot easier to shoot than the Bulldog...
