However I did learn that The Departed is a remake of the Hong Kong made Infernal Afairs, which I didn't know before, so that can go on the list of successful remakes. I suppose the secret is to remake stuff that nobody has seen, and most people ain't seen Timecop...
I think that may be the key. Total Recall and Red Dawn are on TV all the time here and are well liked. (Infernal Affairs is really good, you should see it.)
