I'm modest and don't tell most people, but my idiot friends introduce me as "John, the kid with a million guns" to people I meet for the first time.
It doesn't help my credibility at all.
And you can't convince people that guns aren't that scary these days. In my school, I like guns, so I must be a) redneck b) pyschopath c) in a gang. It's all so stupid. I was once rejected by a girl because she was afraid of me!
