Against my better judgment, I went and saw this movie tonight. Frankly, I'm not quite sure why it's getting so much hate from critics. It's not great cinema or anything, but it's waaaayyy better directed than the first one. Bay wasn't nearly as schizophrenic with the camera angles this time, which was a welcome change. For a summer movie, it did its job.

I really didn't see the hand-held Miniguns at all, just the ones mounted on the backs of the vehicles. That's one of the problems with Bay, unfortunately...he isn't one of those directors who appreciates the visual impact of firearms on action and doesn't provide enough good close-ups of guns in his movies.
Also, can you tell us more about those custom M4s being wielded by Lennox and the other special forces?
