The one thing I will say is that the SCAR already seems kinda over-rated to me. But then again, since it seems like anytime something comes out that's hyped as the AR system's successor, that seems to happen (believe it or not, there was a time that people used to hype the OICW, too, even though everyone laughs at it now).

As I said, the Army back then wasted a lot of money to develop the XM8 and then decided to drop it, but the difference is the SCARs are already fielded, but it looks like the same thing is happening to it like what happened to the 416s. They got taken away even when they had good results during field tests.
