 So mod more people to handle the extra load. Besides, you'd only have to do it once for each new member. They prove themselves to the establishment with a single offer of new content, and then are welcomed into the fold and can edit without any red tape just like the rest of us.
And by new content I don't mean a simple edit to spelling or grammar. I mean better photos, a new page, correctly ID'ing incorrectly ID'ed guns, updating an incomplete page, etc.
