Transformers:Revenge of the Fallen
 

I just saw this film and I can say that there are alot more firearms in thid film than in the last one.

While I am not a big M-4 fan I like the custom M-4s with some unknown grenade launcher on it. You have your miniguns and both AH-1 Cobras and AH-64 Apache doing damage. Abrams tanks with both topguns going and at least one M-113 with a ma duce on it. AT-4 launchers...I'm rambling. It's a great film.

i thought some of them looked more like a HK416 myself but there definately were some M4s there.

You missed the hand held Dillon M134DT Titanium Minigun with a carbon fiber backpack ammo box with power source. I designed and built the hand hold mount for the Minigun. It's a different set up than the old style used in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The set up for Transformer 2 is the same one we used in GI Joe except it was a standard M134 and not the Titanium model.

Against my better judgment, I went and saw this movie tonight. Frankly, I'm not quite sure why it's getting so much hate from critics. It's not great cinema or anything, but it's waaaayyy better directed than the first one. Bay wasn't nearly as schizophrenic with the camera angles this time, which was a welcome change. For a summer movie, it did its job.

I really didn't see the hand-held Miniguns at all, just the ones mounted on the backs of the vehicles. That's one of the problems with Bay, unfortunately...he isn't one of those directors who appreciates the visual impact of firearms on action and doesn't provide enough good close-ups of guns in his movies.

Also, can you tell us more about those custom M4s being wielded by Lennox and the other special forces?

Well the problem with this movie is that the story doesn't grab your attention. The action scenes were good, but that's all, the last battle in the desert seemed like a rehash of the desert battle scene from the first movie. We see too much screen time with Shia Labow or whatever his name is. Everytime the scene went back to him, I wanted to hang myself. The plot seemed full of too many holes, we got too many cliche characters, and comic relief like those 2 black sterortype cars with the gold teeth, the balls on the Devastator. The full ASS SHOT and front shot on the big screen. Megan Fox being a sex symbol being TOO much. I mean who details a motorcycle posing over it like that. The relationship is not believable. The parents are annoying, like the mom, we see 2 dogs fucking each other twice and once was more than enough and not funny. And in the end, nothing seems to be accomplished. It tried to be hard to be epic when it should tone it down.

That's why I'm seeing Public Enemies on July 1st instead for my birthday pary (by the way, today's my birthday, sweet sixteen!), and I'll just buy Tranformers 2 on DVD later on.

Thing is, people complained that the Transformers didn't do jack shit in the first movie (which I loved, along with the vast majority of Michael Bay's films).

Now, there's enough robot action and backstory to make Grant Imahara piss himself silly...and people still bitch.

As for LeBouf, he really seems to be getting better with each film. I remember him being the worst thing about I, Robot. Not so here - in fact, this might be the first Bay movie since the Rock where I've yet to find a single bad performance from anyone (and when I say bad, I mean sweet-Jesus, stop-the-presses, this-makes-Sci-Fi-Saturday-night-specials-look-awesome bad). Even John Tutorro, who I kinda hated in the first movie, redeemed himself quite a bit in Revenge of the Fallen. And I'm going to call it here and now - provided she keeps a decent head on her shoulders, Megan Fox will probably end up being hailed for some great performances in the future. Of course, if you think this is going to be one of them...*snickers*

I ended up seeing the first Transformers in theaters three times, because it was simply a really, really fun rollercoaster ride. Revenge of the Fallen takes all the good that the first one had and drops a 2000-lb JDAM full of concentrated awesome on it. The shit-eating grin on my face as I left the theater Wednesday night said that I will be back for this one again.

the real celebration is when you can vote, enter into a legally binding contract, buy alcohol, buy a long gun, buy a handgun(!), or can become the next big porn star (only if you have this burning desire to do so ;) )...... :D

According to a few aquaitances who've been in that buisiness. it's very overrated. Then think about what happened to a friend of mine. She was watching one of those films with a few mates and the guy in the scene looked really familiar. Then it hit her and her friends were treated with the immortal words... "Oh, my god that's my dad!":D

Personally I would stick with firearms as they are less likely to come back to haunt you.
