What were first da/sa and double stack guns?
 

I know walther pp/p38 were widespread accepted da/sa guns, but did another, even an obscure one come first? And was there a double stack before the browning hi power?

The Browning was the first of it's kind I believe, and so were the Walther PP and P38. If there are some obscure zebra guns that somehow did this before those two, I've no clue as to what they are.

Well, the Savage 1907 pistol had not QUITE a double-stack mag, but it was staggered dual column, and they were quite popular at one point. Used in pretty large numbers by the Portugese military in WW1, and smaller numbers by the French.

The Roth-Steyr 1907 uses a very similar trigger to the Glock where the striker is partially cocked when the bolt closes, and the trigger then fully cocks and releases it. I guess you could argue that the Webley-Fosberry used a DA/SA trigger, but that gun is kind of in a class all its own.

To be technical, a lot of bolt action rifles used double stack magazines, minus models like the Mosin-Nagant and Carcano rifles.

got it, im talking handguns only . It seems the walther pp was the first da/sa. As a huge da/sa fan it is a must own now.

I hear that, slide bite with those things is terrible! PPK/S is better designed to fix that.

My uncle, when he used to sell gun at shows with my grandfather, had a PPK for about a week. After his one and only range session with the gun, he sold it due to the slide bite
