how is main page article determined
 

i was wondering how its decided what shows up on main page

There isn't any. I guess as long as it's complete and has decent caps. It's not locked either, any user can add an article. I think there is actually getting to be too many of them. Sometimes on the main page the feature article won't show up.

How do you add a page to main page though? I dont have any in mind but would like to know the process.

The talk page is the best place to try one out before going onto the main page. That way you know the formatting is right. You can see some the old articles that have been taken off or had caps replaced.

Is the two pics showing up random or chosen?

They are chosen. On articles I've put up, I've changed the pics sometimes.

Shouldn't there be some kind of quality control that dictates what is allowed to be a featured article?? I think only mods should be permitted to add Featured articles & quotes.

I added SG-1 quite a while back and just recently replaced it´s caps again to mix things up a bit. I personally like the fact that anyone can edit the featuredarticle template.
