The Walking Dead. new zombie series on AMC 10/31/10

:DI am probably the last one to know about this, but just in case. The Walking Dead is a comic book about a cop and his family surviving the Zombie Apocalypse. Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Mist) and Gale Ann Hurd (producer of The Terminator and many other action movies) are the producers and have turned it into a television series. It premieres on Halloween.

I haven't checked, but I imagine that Darabont will probably have directed a couple episodes.

Once again I'm probably the last one to learn about this, but I haven't seen anyone taking about it.

It appears that our hero is carrying either a 6" nickle plated Colt Python or a glossy stainless steel Taurus. Well I'll get a better look in the future.

It should be interesting. I imagine that such a show will be pretty expensive to produce. At least it looks like it has high production values in the trailers.

ADDITIONAL(Whoops) :o:o

Okay I just finished typing this and THEN I read the fall lineup thread for the first time. Oh well. :D

Because it looks like it's going to be awesome, it'll probably only last a few episodes

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing. Hope we're both wrong. The comic book wasn't bad.

Doesn't everyone die in the comic?

Evidently it is still in print (2003 - Present) and several of the original characters are still alive. I just looked it up.

Okay found a good screencap on imdb. Our hero is using what appear to be a stainless steel Colt Python with a 6" barrel.

I'm definately looking forward to it.

And AMC is in the habit of NOT cancelling awesome TB series. Breaking Bad and Mad Men for example.

I thought his Python was nickel, but it's kinda hard to tell with the little trailer.
