Maybe this can help in identifying Bolt Action Rifles

I made a comparison chart of the various bolt handles and rear bolt shape for comparison. I hope this makes it a lot easier in visually identifying a bolt action rifle from a SCREENSHOT on IMFDB. Now there are other manufacturers I know, and within each model line there are sub-models, but hopefully this is a start of a good visual guide that can help IMFDB users with the ubiquitous bolt action hunting rifle....

Note the different sweeps and shapes of the bolt handles as well as the knob shape. Also note the back end of the bolt as well as the position of the safety.

Hope this is helpful. Thanks.

Note: This thread is in the IMFDB section because it deals specifically with identifying firearms from screenshots already on IMFDB. :)

Thanks, I imagine that will come very handy.

Unfortunately this might not help, your screencap of the bolt action rifle in The Aura, is nearly impossible to see the unique details that would help ID the gun. Purely a result of how the scene was shot, trying to ID a gun within a photograph within a screenshot is a real challenge! :)
