Man of Steel: The new Superman movie

I'm starting this thread to announce the new Superman movie Man of Steel. It's going to be directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan. Here's the cast:

Henry Cavill - Kal-El / Clark Kent / Superman

Amy Adams - Lois Lane

Michael Shannon - General Zod

Antje Traue - Faora

Russell Crowe - Jor-El

Julia Ormond - Lara Lor-Van

Laurence Fishburne - Perry White

Kevin Costner - Perry White

Kevin Costner - Johnathan Kent

Diane Lane - Martha Kent

This cast looks pretty good, with the exception of Fishburne as White (prefer Tom Berenger).

Also, here's a first look of Cavill as Superman:

I like the updated costume. It's less cartoonish, though it is hard for Superman's outfit to be presented in modern eyes without the usual jokes.

I like Amy Adams as Lois, Micheal Shannon as Zod. I haven't seen Cavill in much so I can't comment about him. Though I'm getting annoyed with all the Brits playing superheroes. (though they are usually better actors). I can't wait till there's an American playing James Bond. (Yeah I doubt that will happen) Costner I don't think so. Crowe I don't know either. Fishburne's not a bad actor, I guess they cast him so it wouldn't be all white.

I saw pictures of Micheal Shannon as Zod and I liked the other possible choice with Viggo Mortensen. He should have been Zod

I'd prefer if Viggo played Jor-El and Tilda Swinton played Lara.

It's good to see Julia Ormond get some work, but do we really need to see Superman's origin story again? Who DOESN'T know Superman's (or Batman's) origin story at this point? I can understand if it's a more obscure superhero, like if they ever make that Luke Cage movie, or even Captain America, but come on, Superman has been around since the `30's, and has had at least a dozen movies and shows already. Just jump straight into the action, or maybe some text.

I thought everyone was going to complain about Zack Snyder directing.
