I like the MP5. But since you can't get a civilian one for any reasonable price, might as well get the Kel Tec Sub 2000
|
Se,, to me the problem with the MP-5, and even the UMP series t some extent is that the time of the sub gun has pasted.
With the rise of modern body armor, and the taking hold of the PDW concept, the place for a 9mm sub gun is growing slim. |

And that is when I champion the UMP-45.
If you want subsonic, and minor collateral, then the .45 ACP is the way to go. |

There's hardly a comparison between an HK94 style gun and a SUB-2000, aside from them being in the same class and caliber. Even so, HK94 style guns are few and expensive no matter what the make. I'd personally hunt down an Uzi Carbine for a decent price and be content. The USC, the civilian UMP, is surely fine too, but the cost of .45 ACP ammo as a civ is significantly higher than 9mm with not much more penetrative or ballistic power. My thought is that you don't really go for a 9mm or any pistol caliber subgun unless you don't want to penetrate something, which is a real concern for police agencies, so they still do have a niche.
If you absolutely have to have decent penetration, get a mid-powered rifle caliber carbine of some sort in a common caliber (AR-15 in 5.56 for example). Ammo costs will be more reasonable than PDW calibers and it offers more penetrative potential than pistol caliber carbines. |
I am in the process of buying an 870. Right now it's just a plain jane with an extended tube. I plan to put more on it in the future. Pics up when I get it.

And here it is, my new shotgun. This is what it looks like now. In the coming year, I'll be doing a couple things to it

looks good to me, i dont like pressure switches on a pump gun but a cool package. What are you planning to upgrade with?
BTW benelli is making m4s that are not neutered and actually hold enough ammo, about time. |
Is that an 18 or a 20 inch Barrel?
|
I think it's 18in
and I plan to put a Mesa stock on it and see if I could upgrade the capacity. It's only 7 shots total |
It's 18.5 inches long, they give it the extra half inch so it'll be flush with the extended tube.

Went to the states 2 biggest gun stores, and each had a single ak. One was a wasr and one a build. Its sad, especially seeing ar15s are overflowing and some were on floor leaning against the wall since theres so many.
|
A handbook for my FAL. I went into the local gunstore looking a few things, and saw that the store had stopped carrying around 50% of what they used to offer. I originally went in there looking for mags and to check out their AR stuff, but it's mostly all gone

I don't know what scope it is, but I would rather have a normal set of sights |
I like optics, irons suck. All right they dont suck but a red dot or scope makes hits soooo much easier.

Needless to say, the scope isn't that good. I need to try the flip-up back sight that came with the rifle again, seeing as I have began wearing glasses since the last time I used it |
Irons im only good to 50. Scopes i can shoot 100-150 never had a range longer to try farther. I actually ahvent pushed myself with irons since getting lasik and now with better eyesight and no astigmatism it may be time to give it another go.

classic ars has type 53 chinese mosins, wondering if i should jump on it.
|
While in combat, I carred an M-4A1 with an ACOG, I had great fun in basic and a couple of brigade rifle comps using irons on a M-16A2 shooting out to 300 yrds.
|
How is the acog in combat enviroments, i hear ixed reviews on them espicaially when you get up close.
|
From what my buddies tell me, they like them. It holds up well when the shit hits the fan and I've read an article where one stopped a bullet from a PSL.
|
why is everything "aircraft grade aluminum" and "hi tech polymer"?
|
I loved mine. I had the 4x adjustable. It was perfect. I could stretch the ranger of my M-4 out to a good 400 yards with it.
Worked just fine up-close. |

I think the pinnacle of red dots s the S&B short dot, but it cost the same as 2 m4s lol. |
If it's a red dot, I would like something cheap and affordable. There really is nothing special about a plain old red dot regardless of what company made it. It's just something for quick target acquisition. A scope, I would like it to be adjustable.
|
Adjustable meant that you could use the optics up a 4x setting, but dial down the magnification for close in shooting.
|
cool i thought they were fixed only. I see a lot of backup red dots because of this.
|
Yeah, a lot of guys do that. Becuase it is sort of hard to adjuct it in the middle of a firefight.
I would always set mine for whatever we were most likely to bhe doing that day and leave it be. The ways the reticle is set up, if you understand bullet drop/zero, you can make it work for you in close combat. |

Sold my Loaded, got this. Well I won the auction this afternoon. There weren't any USPs going for a good price. Got this much cheaper anyway.
|
Looks to be in great condition, but I have to ask, is the gun marked =JERICHO 941= or DESERT EAGLE PISTOL?

Midway finally restocked the stuff I want, so I'm about to buy a bunch of ammo and mags
|
Buying ammo on the internet should be a last resort. Depending upon the quantity/weight, you pay an exorbitant amount for shipping.

You might want to take a look at http://www.sgammo.com/ Shipping for 1000 rounds of 9mm is $18 insured, vs $30 from ammotogo. 2000 rounds $28 vs $60. I was able to get 1000 rounds of Remington UMC nickel case for about $200 shipped. |
