I saw Machete friday. Meh

Sorry, but those soldiers in Halo aren't Spartans and never will be.

As far as getting "crushed" by Vikings goes, the Spartan army was long gone by the time Viking expansion started. The earliest recorded Viking raids occurred in the late 7th Century AD, whereas Sparta ceased to be an independent power around 800 years earlier when they were forced into the Achaean League in 146 BC after a disastrous defeat by a combined Achaean/Macedonian force. The final recorded military action by the Spartans was after the Roman defeat at Adrianople in 378 AD when a Spartan phalanx met and defeated a force of raiding Visigoths. So, no, the Spartans were never crushed by the Vikings. |
I stand corrected. They were Pederasts.

How did this turned into a debate about ancient gay Greeks?

I just got reach, my first halo game. What I dont get is how its 500 years in the future, weve colonized planets with magacities, and travel through subspace fast in huge battlecruisers, but the guns are mybe 20 years advanced from now at the most. And the spartan armor that can survive re-entry into the atmosphere but you drownd in water right off.

Well if you were expecting laser guns and blaster rifles, it seems human weapons hasn't changed much or really need to change I guess.
|
Humans do have the Spartan laser though.

I'm watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I'm not a huge fan of Romantic Comedies, but this one's an exception since it's produced by Judd Apatow.

Yeah, but some people are hoping for phasers and laser guns. The Spartan Laser is a one shot charge up thing. It isn't an infantry rifle. It's a heavy weapon to take out vehicles.

Just saw The Town. Fucking amazing. I consider it one of Ben Affleck's best performances.

For all of the action and the way the plot leads, you have to give Affleck and/or the screenwriters credit for not taking the (overtly) obvious way out at the end. Affleck really stepped up his A-game, here, too. You start to feel for him near the end, especially after his first confrontation with Fergie. Also, I do have to say, I'm glad they didn't follow the book (Prince of Thieves) completely through. |
Though now that I am aware that gunshots are very loud that battle at Fenway must have been loud as hell.
|
I really need to buy this movie:

It's okay, not great. For me, the highlight of the film is the fact that the chick that plays Britta in "Community" is in the film as a stripper. (And you do see the goods.) |

Another movie that is even less of a romantic comedy, 500 Days of Summer. |
|
Choke is a good film. Rockwell's character gets the girl in the end, but no way I would call it a romantic comedy. I mean he shits on himself while in a police station after having a ball stuck up his ass for several days.
|
I love the stripper's stage name, Cherry Daiquiri.

(And I caught it on HBO. So maybe you saw the unrated version.) |

Anybody going to buy the Sacrifice DLC for Left 4 Dead when it comes out?
|
|
Medal of honor coming up? I mean, its kinda a cross of BC2 and MW2, it looks like BC2 without destructible enviroments (all games need destructable environments) but has quick respawn, like MW2, without having to wait around. And you can shoot taliban :)
