I saw The Amazing Spider-Man today. Awesome movie and pretty much an improvement over Raimi's trilogy.

I disagree. Another Spiderman movie is cool, but they could of saved time and money by skipping the origin story. I didn't like The Lizard as the villain. They tried to turn a relatively simple villain in Spiderman's vast rogue's gallery into this supposive smart scientist who really screws up in the comics.

I think my constant gripe with shooter games is that very few of them have the enemy AI programed to react to incoming fire. Games like Call of Duty and Gears of War, or others. The enemies will take cover but rarely are they ever programed to react when they are being shot at by you.

BeardedHoplite 07-10-2012 07:41 PM

Do you mean like their body reactions suck? Like if you shoot a mook with a .357 and he just makes a little flinch and keeps on shooting at you? If so, you check out any of Rockstar's current-gen games like GTAIV or Max Payne 3. They are pretty good with that

I didn't write that. I mean reactions as in they know they are being shot at. When you do suppressing fire, the enemy is actually being suppressed. That the enemy is programed to dive to cover when they are being shot at and not just standing in the opening or some cases just ignore cover and charge towards you like idiots

Mandolin 07-12-2012 09:09 PM

Kind of like Brother in Arms: Hell's Highway? It was a semi-decent game.

S&Wshooter 07-14-2012 03:38 AM

I'm probably going to finally watch "The Big Lebowski" all the way through tonight, since I borrowed a copy from my uncle.

I'm currently watching "Retroactive", another DVD I borrowed

Edit: "Retroactive" is friggin' crazy. Also, I think the State Trooper in the film is just about the most incompetent law officer portrayed in a movie.

S&Wshooter 07-14-2012 05:57 AM

Dammit, "The Big Lebowski" doesn't work

S&Wshooter 07-21-2012 01:08 AM

Preordered Aliens: Colonial Marines

Excalibur 07-21-2012 04:55 AM

Saw the Dark Knight Rises on IMAX and it was awesome

S&Wshooter 07-25-2012 06:47 AM

The new Spiderman movie was pretty good; I liked it better than the previous ones

Savages is pretty much a mediocre Direct-to-DVD movie that somehow got released to theaters

When I heard that they changed the ending to it, I took it off my must-see list. When I read the new ending on Wikipedia, I really stopped giving a hoot, then.

There are actually TWO endings shown, one the way the woman who had been kidnapped envisioned it going, and how things really happened

I know - that's why I'm not going to see it. Something like that just reeks of cop-out. The book ending was ambiguous, but effective.

Excalibur 07-27-2012 04:05 AM

Let's talk about the new Batman movie. It is a great character story, not entirely necessarily a Batman story but more of a Bruce Wayne story and his journey. Of course there are a few things I want to poke at, but I want to know who has NOT seen this movie

The Wierd It 07-27-2012 06:34 AM

I haven't.

S&Wshooter 07-27-2012 08:28 AM

Okay, so I bought Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, Mass Effect 2, and L.A. Noire today

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is alright. Not great, but I'm at least getting my $10 worth.

Mass Effect 2 is pretty fun. I wish I would have been able to track down a copy of the first one that wasn't in unusable condition, though, so I could have played it first.

L.A. Noire isn't really all that great, in my opinion. I'll probably return it tomorrow, because I don't see myself playing it very much.

LA Noire is a different kind of game.

ME2 is amazing. You could just download the comic of the first game to get the choices you want for the second game you are playing now

and Kane & Lynch 2...was a waste of my money

Spartan198 07-27-2012 02:50 PM

I haven't seen TDKR yet either.

The Wierd It 07-27-2012 06:57 PM

I've decided I never want anything to do with Mass Effect.

Why? Aside from the ending

The Wierd It 07-27-2012 08:45 PM

Because someone decided to piss me off by spending three months attempting to completely whitewash the game on another wiki.

Only some of that is fabricated.:p

Mass Effect is one of the best game series I have ever played in the passed 10 years really. Far better than Halo, or other sci fi shooter type.

The Wierd It 07-27-2012 09:23 PM

There's also the fact I'm just generally not that into Western RPGs.

Technically Mass Effect isn't really much of an RPG. It's mostly a shooter.

funkychinaman 07-28-2012 03:57 AM

DKR was amazing.

Swordfish941 07-28-2012 05:22 AM

This is frickin' awesome:

In other news, I've been playing Assassin's Creed II obsessively for the past 3 days. Far better than both Brotherhood and Revelations.

Did you play Brotherhood and Revelations before you played II?

I was going to ask that too. Brother is new, but didn't like the whole stuck in Rome thing but I like the ability to call assassins to come to my aid

S&Wshooter 07-30-2012 09:15 PM

I ordered a copy of Mass Effect on Amazon, since I can't find one in playable condition anywhere locally

Well ordering online will be cheaper. I know places that sell a USED copy for 30 bucks and this game came out so many years ago.

The bipedal fox is Rocket Raccoon. Haven't you read the comics?

I payed slightly more than half that on a new copy

I brought Kane & Lynch 2 and L.A. Noire back and got a used copy of Mass Effect 3

Yeah. It kind of sucked already knowing who "the Spaniard" was the moment I saw him, but if I hadn't have played Brotherhood first, I wouldn't have bothered with any ACs after the first one due to its terrible sword combat system (while I understand the point is to be stealthy and enjoy espionage-style games, AC1 forced you into too many 4 on 1 frontal conflicts with a swordplay system that was less than ideal).

I didn't mind and enjoyed Rome as the sole setting personally, since my love of classical antiquity means I can roam around the city for hours just enjoying the reproductions of the various famous landmarks.

I'm still crossing my fingers in the hopes that they'll do a prequel centering around the assassination of Alexander the Great.

Excalibur 07-31-2012 08:08 PM

I was hoping AC3 was going to take place in China since the short animated film Ember had a Chinese Assassin. We Chinese needs some representation here.

I can totally see it. You play the wife of a prominent Politburo member, and your first target is a British businessman...
