You should get it anyway. You can probably get the first two for less than $30 combined, and they're excellent games.

I liked the first assassin's creed better, I thought the second one was hard to get into.

I thought 2 was better, game-wise, but I thought 1 had the better setting. Granted, I think there was a lot more you could do with Renaissance Italy than with a Crusader-era Holy Land, but I've always been more interested in the Crusades.

What actually got me into the Assassin's Creed series was seeing the trailer to the 3rd game. I wanted to play that so I had pre-ordered it and bought the second game used. And I really liked it. I remember playing the first game and it didn't interest me at all. I got the first game because I wanted to see what part of the story I missed out.
