I'm getting bored with my games. Do you guys have any suggestions for some first-person shooter games.

Did they remove that BS weapon degrdation yet? If not I'm going to get something else. I mean I liked the first farcry but the seccond wasn't worth the rental.

The Darkness wasn't bad; looks real purty too.
Bioshock is worth getting.

Has it really been 15 years? No wonder I have like no interest in the game, I was like 5 or 6 back then. Duke nukem is kinda a joke now. I wonder what this game will do, they already have video of him throwing a piece of poop at bad guys and stuff like that.....

Yeah, but none of you were even in kindergarten when DNF was announced. Think about I feel...I was younger than any of you are now when this game was being hyped. I'm actually old enough to remember the E3 trailers from 1998 and 2001, and when PC Gamer magazine did a huge exclusive on DNF in their Holiday 1999 issue (yeah...back in the days when people actually paid money for print editions of magazines).

Hah, you think you're old? I remember the issue of CVG where they had to tell people Quake wasn't an April Fools' joke, and my first computer had a 512K RAM expansion the size of a postcard. Here's the second one's 1 megabyte.

The difference 18 years of games makes:

(click for biggar)

They're both F-22s, the first one was based on concept artwork.

Does this mean I'll be taking Frank Bilders and his magical collection of exploding rust out for another safari? :D

The game trailer says that they ditched the weapon degredation...Thank the gods as that sucked in a bad way.

Me I have you all beat. I'm old enough to have had a copy of Duke Nukem 3D when it came out.

Yes Rocky is as old as dirt and twice as ugly.

Ha, I've got a Win95 copy of Quake and the big box it came in. Even got a couple of games on floppy with codewheel and page / paragraph / word / letter copy protection lying around here somewhere.

I think I might go out and buy Far Cry 2. It seems MUCH more interesting than Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Ehhhh, not really. It's definitely longer though.

I didn't actually own a copy of Duke Nukem 3D, but I am old enough to have played it when it first came out (I was about 10 or 11 then).

When Swordfish and Smithy started talking about DNF, I was just amazed because I would never have expected teenagers today had even heard of Duke Nukem. I figured that Duke Nukem 3D's gameplay and graphics are way too antiquated to appeal to anyone besides gaming historians and dudes our age who are nostalgic for the good old days.

OK, then yeah, you are definitely older than me, and started gaming much earlier.
