Anyone else having Site problems?
 

I keep on getting this error message and it's canceled a bunch of my edits :(

Error 503 Service Unavailable

Now I know we had to move to new servers because of bandwidth. Is it because of more traffic, i.e. more people in the world are checking out the site? Or is it something we can fix on our end? (adjusting how we do things on the site? ) I'm trying to delete a bunch of old unused files just because they take up server space, but being that they aren't linked to any pages, I don't think they impact 'bandwidth usage' all that much.

If any higher ranking SYSOPS can shed some light on this, it would be much appreciated. :)

I was getting that error for a few minutes last night.

My guess is we're maxing out the number of concurrent http requests - ie too many people are trying to access the site at once. I'll see if we can't raise the limit a bit.

I wonder how many of those attempts are either idiots or vandals.... :(

Most likely a lot. I've been trying to go back on the site AND the forums and I keep getting the error

I've been getting the 503 error about 70% of the time now. :(

We corrected a server error around noon pst today - hopefully that took care of it. Let me know if not.

Who's sending them? :confused:
