New Gun
 

So I finally got my first gun and ended up going with the XDM 9mm all black. I got to take it out today and shot 100 rounds through it. I really enjoyed it and the gun is really easy to field strip which is good since I don't know much yet.

I have a question though when the slide is locked back I noticed the barrel seemed somewhat loose it moved around a bit and I didn't think that seemed right. I suppose I may have put it back together wrong but I did it five or six times and there is only one way the barrel fits in correctly so I was just curious if there should be any movement.

Well, I can't help you with that at all, but congratulations! That sounds like a great purchase!

Don't worry, the XD locks up in the ejection port so there's supposed to be a little play in the barrel with the slide back. You only have to worry if it doesnt lock up tight with the slide forward.

Nyles thank you that is good to hear because it is only like that with the slide back so that makes me feel much better.

And k9870 yes I couldn't believe it myself. I had been looking online everywhere all the time and not finding anything and so one day I randomly checked this little gun shop I found not too far from my school and they had quite a bit of 9mm I couldn't believe it.

Guess what we have? A ton of 36per50 .44 mag and occasionally 40S&W, saw 4 boxes of umc 40 yesterday. Lots of SD ammo, but nothing for plinking

Ya I was really surprised they had that much cheap 9mm. I went back again actually and they still had some so total I ended up with 1000 rounds (minus the hundred I shot). My dad randomly found one box of 380 for his Bersa at a Wal Mart the other day but thats all he has seen of that in months.
