Oh no, another new guy...

Just wanted to say hi and tell you guys what a great thing you have going with IMFDb! I have been lurking for some time, but decided it was time to start posting up, etc. I have a recent strong interest in guns like many these days with the economy, but that doesn't mean I am a nut. I have a wife and 2 kids with a third on the way. Because I wasn't raised anywhere near guns, I have a lot of catching up to do. To me they seem like great tools, investments, and of course toys.

I do run a couple very similar sites (which Orca has already found ;)) which feature aircraft and motorcycles rather than firearms. They are:
impdb.org - The Internet Movie Plane Database
and
immdb.org - The Internet Movie Motorcycle Database

Obviously I haven't had much time yet to get going on the motorcycle database, but the planes site has been real fun as it slowly gets built up. Planes have established a relationship with the guys over at imcdb.org and we are now providing links from each of our movies to their movies because of it. We have also included a link to their site in our Friends and Sponsors link page. I realize firearms doesn't have anything like that setup at this time. I was just curious if that may ever change? I would love to establish a relationship with firearms. It can only help both sites.

These other places don't seem as developed as IMFDB

You are right. We are still in our beginning stages. IMCDb has been around since 2004 though and doing well.

Reminds me, wasn't there a internet movie military vehicle database connected to imfdb before? I remember it from when I first came to imfdb.

I swear I saw a place that does all the cars in a movie

Thanks S&Wshooter! I hope to be able to help out here in the very near future. You guys have already helped me learn and understand a lot more about firearms.

(For future reference, everyone around here calls me SW for some reason)

SW is easier to say. :D

Because my email was ignored earlier this year, I did want to bring up something I noticed. I may be the only one that has looked at the general disclosure, but I thought someone should know that at the bottom of section 15 I noticed this left behind, "send us e-mail notice at support@chickipedia.com. With respect to our notices..."

I also found a cool code which we have used on my sites which removes any wiki format within the section. <nowiki>text</nowiki> Thought it might help in situations like this, "...be sure to type in [ [ C*tegory:Poster and Cover Art ] ] in the summary so that the image will be properly categorized for future searches. ("Category" not spelled correctly intentionally here so as to not create a wiki code error on this page)"

Welcome, new guy. Just keep three critical things in mind:

1. Clips and magazines are not the same thing.
2. HK is overrated.
3. And if you see Javier, be sure to give him a Spartan deathkick back into the Guatamala sinkhole.
