Failed (please export your movie in .WMV format)

You can also post it to a file-sharing site like Rapidshare or Megaupload, but that would mean we'd all have to download it to our HDs and watch it, instead of just streaming it.

Personally, I can never get YouTube to upload my stuff. I once tried to post a skit for an Arabic class on YouTube, and it kept giving me errors, and even when it successfully uploaded, there were screwy things about the video quality. I had the same problem when I tried to upload a piece of a movie for my thesis presentation. I'm not sure what I keep doing wrong.

fom youtube, it explained that it was saved as a windows movie maker file, and needs to be a different file. problem is, movie makers not letting me save as anything else.

Ah. You're trying to export the wrong file; the files you create by saving in Movie Maker are 'project' files that just save what you've done to a particular movie. You want the movie files you create by using 'Publish.'

i did publish and it still saves as that file, and it wont let me choose what to publish as

Maybe you can try a format conversion tool. I'm sure those must exist for video files (I have one that lets me save my AVIs as MP4s so I can put them on my iPod).

Your publish screen looks like that, right? What does it say where mine says 'Windows Media Video WMV' there?
