New Video Games/ Movies

This thread is pretty much for talking about new games and movies you have recently purchased.

Today, I went out and bought Alpha Protocol and reserved Fallout: New Vegas Special Edition

S&Wshooter 06-07-2010 10:00 PM

Also, I found an unopened copy of RocknRolla while cleaning out my desk

Alcatrazz 06-07-2010 10:25 PM

6 weeks ago I bought COD 4 and Borderlands. Guess which one I still have installed?

S&Wshooter 06-07-2010 10:32 PM

You are supposed to be able to customize your agent's appearance on Alpha Protocol, but for some stupid reason it will not let me.

S&Wshooter 06-07-2010 10:47 PM

OK, it let me give him a beard, diff complexion, sunglasses, a hat, and diff hair. But I'm still disappointed that I cannot change his face

MT2008 06-08-2010 01:28 AM

"Gears of War" - the original.

Yeah, it's tough even on "Casual". Probably not the wisest choice for my first 360 game. I'm enjoying it even though I wish I'd tried it when it first came out. But since it's the first shooter I've played in a long time, it still seems fresh and exciting to me.

I didn't even get that far when I just got too pissed off to play it

Bugabear 06-08-2010 02:11 AM

In terms of games, I'm about to finish Mass Effect 2, Played through Splinter Cell: Conviction again but can't do online till I get a new modem. I'm also playing Just Cause 2 and am about to install the new Doctor Who game. Considering I didn't pirate any of them I feel quite proud.

And in terms of new movies, I watched Taken and it's pretty much like Splinter Cell made into a movie. But with Liam Neeson. And if anybody cares, the second part of Modern Warfare Frozen Crossing is out. If you haven't seen the first part I suggest you do. And this guy has some nice photos of Israel's somewhat Special Forces. Rappelling into an angry crowd is one thing but doing it with paintball guns is another.

S&Wshooter 06-08-2010 02:34 AM

I'm just getting into Alpha Protocol. It's like Splinter Cell only it's not lame and you can kill whoever you want without that much of a penalty other than having to kill a bunch of dudes

Excalibur 06-08-2010 02:06 PM

If it's better than Conviction, I'll take it. Conviction was too easy for me.

But I can't wait for the new Metal of Honor, COD Black Ops, Fallout New Vegas

Same here. Hopefully I will have enough money

Gunmaster45 06-08-2010 06:38 PM

Just bought Red Dead Redemption, it kicks Red Dead Revolver, Gun, and Call of Juarezs' asses times infinity.

Spartan198 06-08-2010 06:52 PM

Last new game I bought was Modern Warfare 2, I think. Due to my financial situation, I'm forced to focus only on games I *know* I'll like rather than what I call "wild cards" (games I'm not sure about) like Alpha Protocol, Red Dead Redemption, and such. Next one I plan to get is Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (I'm a huge fan of the Sands of Time trilogy).

With Red Dead Redemption, the controls of some things take a little getting used to, but it plays exactly like GTA4 with most basic controls. Also, the game world is HUGE. I don't think I've ever had so much room to roam about in a game.

Alcatrazz 06-08-2010 09:21 PM

I find the multiplayer of the Modern Warfare series to be primitive and shallow.

I never buy games solely for multi-player. In fact, multi-player is completely secondary for me.

S&Wshooter 06-08-2010 10:18 PM

Just bought S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl (again , my copy stopped working) and it's prequel, Clear Sky, on Amazon. The shipping cost more than the two games combined

S&Wshooter 06-09-2010 07:50 PM

Went to Fry's and got True Grit (watched it last night. John Wayne reminds me of my Grandfather, who is coincidentally a John Wayne fan), Big Jake, and Shogun Assassin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0wQhiptQBE, tons of blood)

Spartan198 06-09-2010 10:22 PM

Went to the store earlier to get something. Ended up getting Pandorum on DVD as well. Awesome movie. Best sci-fi horror movie since Aliens, IMO.

Are you kidding me? Pandorum was like the Reavers from Firefly that goes all crazy and start killing people. It's not even that kind of scary. It has a lot of jump scares and it's too busy trying to disgust you than anything else. Barely any much plot.

I am waiting for the A-Team, The Last Airbender, The Expendables,

We clearly watched different movies, then.

k9870 06-16-2010 02:17 AM

COD:Black ops looks promising even with guns being sooooo historically inaccurate. In this though theres vehicles again, and weapons have muzzle jump and you need to adjust for recoil from the footage ive seen. Unlike cod4/mw2 where weapons went dead on target this game looks like you need skill to use the weapons.

S&Wshooter 06-16-2010 02:52 AM

I got Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky in the mail. Clear Sky is extremely frustrating

Yup. Clear sky does that to ya. last two games I got were: S.T.A.L.K.E.R: call of pripyat australian special edition (which is nothing special except for a sexily shiny metal case) and Killing floor.

p.s. First post :D

Great movie and ending.

Excalibur 06-17-2010 06:06 PM

My 2 cents on the new Ghost Recon game....I am sick and tired of fighting the Russians. I've killed them in a bunch of the shooters in the past year.

k9870 06-17-2010 07:06 PM

Yeah i want to kill chinese communists instead. Or north koreans. Even Venezuela would be cool in a good game not a fail like mercs 2.

Bugabear 06-17-2010 07:17 PM

Speaking of Chinese Commies, the new Red Dawn movie is postponed because MGM is 4 billion in debt.

Yeah. I want to kill Vietcong in a REAL (not shitty) Vietnam game

Good. That's one remake that you can't just make nowadays without looking stupid

Spartan198 06-18-2010 07:04 AM

I gotta agree, I'm tired of killing Russians, too.

Shame about Red Dawn, though. I was looking forward to it.

Bugabear 06-19-2010 07:37 PM

If anybody is interested heres a picture on how to get into the Medal of Honor beta without buying anything. Dont know if it works but it's worth a try. http://i.imgur.com/9bDDy.png.

And here's a gameplay video.

S&Wshooter 07-01-2010 12:05 AM

Just went and got The Godfather game (again; I sold my old copy 2 yrs ago) and Stranglehold, along with a new 360 controller because one of mine up and disappeared

Excalibur 07-01-2010 02:04 AM

A new movie coming out this Friday. The Last Airbender.

S&Wshooter 07-01-2010 02:38 AM

Saw Knight and Day today (I recommend it) and am going to go see Predators with my buddies the week after next

Excalibur 07-01-2010 02:44 AM

I saw Toy Story 3 last week and I know it's a kids movie, but I remember when I saw the movies as I grow up and had to see this one,

k9870 07-01-2010 03:05 AM

Yeah, I grew up on them too.
