Beretta Taurus

I'm a new member here, but hardly new to guns, or to forums. I've made many visits to the web site to research movies, and finally decided to join.

I'm presently reading the Stephen King novel "Under the Dome." I know that King is ignorant of most everything gun related, having once written about a character who "clicked off the safety" of his Glock "revolver."

In the present book, he makes several references to the local police in a small fictional town in Maine, carrying "Beretta Taurus" pistols. In another part he tries to impress us with his gun knowledge by matter-of-factly telling the reader that even modern revolvers need to have an empty chamber under the hammer.

I've made several attempts to find contact information for him, but alas can find none. I sent an email to the publisher in hopes they would forward the information to him, but I shall not hold my breath. Maybe I should start a gun consulting service for writers.

Stephen King has too much money to give a shit.

"King's no prize. He's a whore. A mad-dog writer for the highest bidder"

I am just joking :)
(I just used quote from MW2, so don't try to sue me LOL)

From what i've heard, he's not the person who likes to pay attention to details of firearms. If i was him, i wouldn't try to focus too much on firearms detail. It might ruin the whole story, or even his whole idea of novel.

I know there are several wrong details about the guns in his novel, but i don't think he would think this error seriously, since we all know it's "error", not something we can totally trust and say in front of people "Glock is revolver, because Stephen King said that!".

Un-ergonomic, too light, extremely popular

I keep wondering on that old joke dialogue in movies where a gun with a revolver tricks an idiot by saying he left the safety on. Are there actually revolvers with safeties, like a manual safety?

Would the Glock safe action even work on a revolver?

The norinco police revolver looks like its got a safety. And would never buy a glock wheelgun.

I've found one: http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg199-e.htm

The German Reichsrevolver had one, as did many European-made pocket revolvers in the 19th century.
