Predator Mossberg

I have a question for everyone. Does anyone know who combined the Mossberg 500 and the AR-15/SP-1 for the film predator. It looks like a Cliener Ultimate system but according to what information I have the system didn't start appearing until about 1989.

It's one of those things that is starting to bug me as I wrote the wikipedia page on the Cliener system and I'm getting a fanboy "Is it really..." sort of vibe.
