Spam in inboxes

Yep, sending Spam as private messages now.

Vangelis 07-25-2009 06:22 AM

Naming who's doing it might be an idea.

Gunmaster45 07-25-2009 07:01 AM

Name the culprit and I'll burn his ass.

Rockwolf66 07-25-2009 07:42 AM

CoCoChanel or something like that.

Also, checking others, there seems to be a pattern:

*The bots always fill out their "about me" section. The biography will be "Man," location a random country, occupation the same as location, and interests the same as their account name. The bots which spammed the forums have this, too.
*They may have an ad for a spam program called "Xrumer." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XRumer

From a check of users who aren't banned and haven't posted since they registered, I get:

eltracer: about me section: http://www.imfdb.org/forum/member.php?u=136
JasminBerkova: Xrumer ad: http://www.imfdb.org/forum/member.php?u=74
JLoes: about me section: http://www.imfdb.org/forum/member.php?u=109
KlaraNovikoffa: about me section, Xrumer ad: http://www.imfdb.org/forum/member.php?u=76
LevitraES: bot seems to have screwed up and started trying to paste a spam ad into the location and occupation sections: http://www.imfdb.org/forum/member.php?u=95
MysterialSEO: about me section, Xrumer ad: http://www.imfdb.org/forum/member.php?u=90
OemSOFT: same screwup as LevitraES: http://www.imfdb.org/forum/member.php?u=133
Orerrergo: about me section, Sig is a spam link: http://www.imfdb.org/forum/member.php?u=150
phottoshop: As above: http://www.imfdb.org/forum/member.php?u=94
UndepeNeume: About me section: http://www.imfdb.org/forum/member.php?u=69
viagraonlines: Well, obviously: http://www.imfdb.org/forum/member.php?u=108

I though it was kind of strange that eltracer lived in fucking Burma...

I've deleted all of them, thanks. Damn spammers.

Alcatrazz 07-25-2009 03:08 PM

I thought in Burma, owning and operating a computer was a capital offense.

k9870 07-25-2009 03:20 PM

Cocochannels

I know this may sound a little crazy, but i think me and Vangelis could be good moderators. Vangelis, being british or european, can cover the time the American mods and admins are sleeping. I stay in this forum and the main site 24 hours, straight.

Gunmaster45 08-08-2009 09:35 PM

I mean no offense when I say this, but if you gotta ask, you aren't ready yet.

Being a Mod/Admin is an honor given to users who really distinguish themselves over a long time of hard work. You aren't supposed to just ask for the status.
