Links to Wiki?

Is there any merit / negative in having links to the appropriate Wikipedia pages for the weapons listed? Whilst the individual weapons are listed for each movie, the specific details and history of said items aren't, for obvious reasons.

But, is there a reason there can't be a Wiki link (that opens in a new window, preferably) for each weapon so you could quickly read up the full spec on your favourite firearm when you encounter it on a movie page?

Alternatively and more simply, perhaps just at the bottom of the actual article for each weapon you could have a link, much like Wikipedia do to the IMDB for articles on movies?

e.g.

Just a thought...

Well, each firearm on a movie page is supposed to be linked to a page listing all of that firearm's appearances in movies. Some of those pages also have stats on the gun, or a brief overview. Frequently, MoviePropMaster, our armorer, discusses information about those guns as they appear in movies (i.e. M16A1s with A2 handguards substituting for the M16A2 when armorers couldn't get the real thing, or the popularity of the Mini-14 Bullpup in sci-fi movies).

Gun pages occasionally have external links (usually to World Guns or the maker's web site), and I think that's more than enough.
